Anatomy of an Okra, 2026
Lino print on 250gsm, gold acrylic paint
A4 unframed
Anatomy of an Okra, 2026 draws from the ancient art of Indian florals and its deep spiritual symbolism. The design is created from observation of my okra plants over time, wanting to draw attention to its structure and beauty. The plant has become a symbol of embodied memory, cultural lineage and sustenance. Lino has been cut into a symmetrical image illustrating the okra leaf, pod, flower, stem and root. The viscosity of the paint in combination with the printing method unexpectedly revealed a beautifully fitting vascular network, adding further depth and detail to the image. This organic formation, present in all living things.
Due to the handmade printing of these work, prints will differ to the image shown here.
